說到Russell Dickerson，
這位初試啼聲便一鳴驚人的鄉村樂界小生，
其實早在2011年就已發行過首張EP，也許時機並未成熟，所以一路沉潛創作。
在過去訪談中，Russell曾提及這首歌早在2014年就完成了，
他不諱言，
前後約四年，這首歌在一開始的確四處碰壁，沒有唱片公司願意發行。
直到2016年才有機會釋出這首歌，
甚至要到2018年才驚人式地竄升至鄉村Airplay排行榜第一名，
成為當年度的全民情歌，
甚至躍升為近幾年的婚禮界國歌之一!
而這首''yours''之所以貴為婚禮國歌深情款、提摩編未來婚禮的限定版(咦?!)，
就要談到這首歌創作的初衷。
這首歌其實是Russell和他的大學同窗Parker Welling與Casey Brown共同譜寫的，
當時他們原本只是想寫首true, honest love song，
但歌名的靈感，油然而發源自於對老婆Kailey真摯的情感連結。

'' I was this before, but now I’m yours. [My co-writers have] seen my relationship [with my wife] from Day 1, so I think that’s why it was so cool and so real and so, just, raw, and it just connects.''
Russell其實曾和現在的老婆在感情上有一段短暫的冷靜期，
但也因為如此，
讓他有機會思考未來人生如何與另一半共渡，
當中需要的是對愛的無條件奉獻與無私付出吧Y

順帶一提，
身為攝影師的Kailey也親手操刀這支單曲的MV，
僅僅花了6塊美金就拍出讓人嘆為觀止的自然界震撼景致!
對比Russell身後烏雲疊層追逐、閃電暴雨傾瀉而下，
才能帶出這首歌對愛全然的給予，以及堅定不移的信仰。
回首這段感情，
因為有感恩、有沉澱，才能讓彼此成為好的靈魂伴侶。
如果真要提摩編以一句話註解這首情歌，那就是:
「是你讓我成為靈魂最好的版本，而你是我人生的限定版，只想成為你一輩子最甜蜜的依賴!」
